Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Religious Education Program here at St. Vito - Most Holy Triniry Parish. In the Gospel of St. Matthew chapter 19:13-15, we read the wonderful story of how Jesus welcomes and blesses the children. Jesus tells his apostles, "Let the children come to me and do not stop them. The kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." Jesus words are not only meant for the children, but for all who trust in Him with childlike faith.
 
Our entire Catechetical staff is committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, which transforms lives. Our mission in preparing the children to receive the sacraments is to establish in them the importance of having a relationship with Jesus. This most intimate relationship must be carefully and gently nurtured in each child, especially with the help of parents. Our walk with the Lord as parents and educators must be examples to our children that our God is a wonderful, loving, forgiving Father filled with mercy and compassion.
 
This Handbook explains our mission and commitment to you and your children, and what will be expected of you and your children as we share and grow in faith together.
 
Please take an active role in nurturing the faith in your children. We invite you to celebrate the mass with us on Sundays. Review your child's religion books, and homework, take time to pray, listen and read the scriptures with them.
 
Once again welcome and May God continues to bless you in your vocation as Christian parents and guardians.
